Isn't it pretty obvious then that there is no God? You really don't have any reason to believe in him. I'm not trying to convert, but I mean what you're saying, it sounds like you just believe because it seems "right". It's like you want there to be a God.

Too many it does just seem right to believe, being born into a religiously strict family, church every Sunday, grace at dinner, praying nightly, (strict religious habits vary with different religions). Some people are raised on religion, and find it hard just to throw away after 16-22 years of brainwashing (I guess this age range because the person will reach adolescence and question everything).

I don't know how many times I've heard the question:

Religious People Reconsidering The Existence of God wrote "But what if I'm wrong? I'm better off believing and if he exists I go to heaven, if he doesn't, no big deal."

I feel like using a lot of your time and effort worshiping a higher power that turns out to never exist is a big waste of time and therefore a big deal.. but thats just me.

That's also a logical fallacy known as Pascals Wager.

Do people with that attitude think that their all knowing God wouldn't see their belief is fake?
That they are believing out of an insurance policy and not through true faith and conviction?

Yeah, "God Is Not Great" is one of my favourite books, real shame he had to go, at least he is in a better place now :trollin:

I believe a bit but not that much at all. I believe that people look at it to not to be scared when dieing and to maker them feel safer. There is no proof. Science and stuff make perfect sense, but a man creating the whole world doesn't and even universe doesn't. I doubt he is there, but I still like to believe just a bit.

For me, Religion is just something people have a necesity to believe in just because they don't know what will happen in there life & after they die!

I also grew up in a strict religious family. No tattoos or piercings. Couldn't drink certain beverages. I wasn't allowed to watch certain movies and play certain games. When my parents split, my grandparents kicked my mom, my brother and I onto the streets. I still went to church and on the weekends I went with my father.

Eventually I questioned my religion and stopped going to church. My grandparents saw this as the first straw. When I went to rehab, my grandparents blamed my mother. They pretty much cut me out of their life, every Christmas and Birthday they would refrain from purchasing me anything and my cousin became a favorite. They let me live on the streets instead of helping us in any way. My father is pretty much the same, all because I'm not religious and I didn't live up to their expectations. That's how cruel religious people tend to be.

I can't even count how many times I've heard excuses referring to dependency on the existence of a god. It's all because of the consistent brainwashing of children into religious beliefs.

I'm probably going to get hate for what I am about to say, but, oh well. This is the internet. Not like it matters.

I personally think that Deism is a more logical way of looking at this than Atheism (not thats theres anything wrong with it).
