Group aims to send 2 humans on Mars mission in 2018

If newly unveiled plans pan out, a man and a woman may represent humanity on one journey that has never been attempted before: a mission to Mars.

Its incredibly feasible. Its not crazy talk," Taber MacCallum, CEO of Paragon Space Development Corp., told CNN.

MacCallum and millionaire Dennis Tito announced their plans Wednesday to send a couple of earthlings on a 501-day trip in a spacecraft that would fly by the red planet. The proposal was unveiled at the National Press Club in Washington.

A lot of the goals we have, is to be able to sustain life on another planet besides Earth. Earth's resources are getting to be limited, so what will happen in the next 100 years on our planet? Hopefully, this journey can find us something that will help us in the feature.

I'm glad I'll be able to see such a big event like this, man sets foot on Mars.

trust me its a wast of money just like the moon landing we will go to mars 1 time and thats it never to return to it

wow how lucky for the couple are going but i bet 512 days in a space craft will be boring but what an experience

Maybe we'll get there faster with impulse drive, taking about 6 weeks
