I'm wanting to update my Jasper BB 256 to the latest dashboard. I have read like 15 tutorials on updating the dash around the net and only one of them mentioned changing the LDV if updating an rgh. I'm wondering if that applies to rgh1 or rgh2 or both? Also do I need a full dump of my nand or just a partial?

I haven't been able to find the answers to these two questions anywhere. I'm almost at the point to where I will create my update image with jrunner, those two questions are keeping me from updating confidently.

I seriously appreciate any help and sorry if this is common knowledge to others. I haven't been able to find any real info on if I need a full dump or not and if I need to change the LDV on a RGH2 when updating.

On any RGH you would need to change you LDV (Lock Down Value) only time you don't if it is a jtag.

Thank you buddy, I am now feeling confident enough to do it. I wonder why this LDV stuff isn't mentioned in other tut's... Thank you for making your thorough how-to on updating. I would've messed up my 360 had I not read it and seen that part about the lock down value. Even on the TX forums on tutorials about using jrunner, they don't say to change the ldv. I bet there are many people out there following bad tutorials bricking their consoles all the time. I'd rep ya if I could, seems since I'm new here I cant rep yet.

Cheers to you bud!

Edit: Oh yeah, do I need a full nand dump of my 256 jasper to do the update or just the partial dump?

Flash360 gives me two options: -A) Save entire nand or -B) Save just the flash partition. I dont know if I am supposed to do full dump or just the flash partition.

Bro, I have flash360 open now. It asks me if I want to A: save entire nand or B: Save only the flash partition. These are the exact options it gives me on my Jasper 256 RGH2 console. Flash360 gives me 2 choices, NOT one choice. I'm telling you verbatim what it is asking me. So which choice do I pick, Full backup or Just the Flash partition?? It's not as simple as pushing a single button, My jasper is a Big Block and it asks if I want to do a full dump or just the flash partition.

Anyone familiar with jaspers know?

If your using xebuild, you don't need to change the LDV, at least I never have.

Do you have a BB Jasper? All nand flashing tools ask me this exact same thing. Here's a screen, of flash360 asking me. I can find no information about this, obviously people know as there are many BB Jasper RGH's out there, but there isn't any info that I can find about this. This is keeping me from updating my console as I do not know if I need a full nand dump or just the flash partition.

I took this with my camera, sorry for the quality.
