it may look dangerous, but i will probably be good

Power supplies are guilty until proven innocent. It's very, very likely that it should be replaced.

I really need a new desk, this one is pretty small and getting a bit old.

It's decent for minor gaming, don't expect to max every game out.
As r00t said, it's very likely that you will need to replace that PSU. PSUs are more important than people think, if your PSU craps out it's likely that it will take some parts with it.
