Is there a lag from the xbox to the program on the computer like the PVR? In other words, would I be able to play the xbox on my computer screen with this?

Unfortunately, no. There is a delay, but I am not sure if it is dependent upon the video settings either. It may be faster on 720 than 1080, but I couldn't tell you...I recorded on 1080.
