Can comeone please explain what exactly reputation points do? I'm not exactly sure?

Reputation points are given to you by other users. Once you acquire 100 reputation points, you receive one reputation power, which displays on your posts and threads.
For example, I have 822 reputation power. Head over to your profile page and scroll down to the 'Reputation' tab to check out your reputation information.

Go to your profile and at the bottom click reputation. Its fully explained there.

Yep, this guy knows what he is talking about. You can also get rep by posting. Like every 25 posts is 1 reputation power.
