Do you think that the likes of Paranormal Activity and The Devil Inside are based on true stories like they say they are? I mean, surely some events are true, but not all of them?

I think they're more based on the myths surrounding real events.

Like the exorcism of Emily Rose, the entire story of that film was based on a dramatization of the slight possibility that it could have been possession.
Whereas the real investigation proved beyond reasonable doubt that she was simply ill.

So in a way, yes. But in a bigger way, no.

What about Hellrasier (Pinhead) that would be crazy. But some are just myths I believe

I believed movies were based on true events until Paranormal Activity 2 came out. Like how can they even try to claim that it's based on a true story when they have up to 4 of them now?

I think they are based on true stories but its exaggerated say one small thing happens they stretch it out to a full 1 hour to 2 hour movie but some films
with serial killers are true but not exact but close enough

I'm sure there is some truth to it.. maybe someone with that name reported a paranormal act and the movie just took off with it.

Some Serial Killer Movies Are Based On True Storys But The Film maker over exaggerates On Most Of The Parts.

I think some of these movies had parts that were true but some of it was a bit exaggerated.

Did you know wrong turn was supposed to be a true story..
