We are labeled douchebags and so many things for being fit.


I'm a Freshman in highschool, it seems like most of the kids haven't gotten a bit of maturity in them yet. I'm a geek, a nerd, I love to game, I'm not a casual gamer. I love Star Wars and much more. I also am a bodybuilder and play some sports and run etc. So I try to have friends who share that geek side and those that share the sporty side. But it seems many people hate fit people.

When I first came to my HS I made many geeky friends and it seems when they noticed I played sports, worked out, and spoke to other sporty people they made a new persona for me and see me as a Casual Gamer or just a dbag.


I don't understand this way of thinking, as it is possible to be both a gamer, and a athlete.
I think they'd understand if they knew me before I started a fitness life.

Ha yeah I'm a sophomore in high school, but @ my school most people are fit so it's not a problem

I've never had this issue to be honest.
I was the kid who coaches always asked me to join the team. I stopped playing sports in like 10th grade. I was still pretty fit, and I played games. I was in AP classes, etc.
Most of the people in my school didn't have an issue with me. In fact, the people who had a problem with me were mostly just afraid of pissing me off because I wasn't the nicest in high school..

I have never seen people hate on fit people... They might envy them if they are over weight and wish they could be that fit.

I understand what you are saying here. As for me, I'm sort of in the middle of all the "groups" because I swim, run, and play a majority of other sports for fun, yet I also enjoy programming and modding as well as geeky things such as.... well I won't go into details.

The bottom line is, for me at least, people don't judge me by my activities and interests, but by my personality. All the jocks and geeks know that I mod, but I make them laugh so they don't care if my hobbies vary from theirs.

I know this wasn't about fit people as you stated, I just wanted to offer my own insight on this situation. Nice topic man.
