I went into recovery after i downloaded the 3.55 ofw update and clicked system update then it said please insert a usb with 4.31 or higher on it. Why is it doing that? i un spoofed my ps3. Please help

Your ps3 needs to have been on 3.55 or lower at time of manufacture. For instance my slim was on 4.something when I bought it (new) so it's not possible to downgrade below 4 for me.

Im on 3.55 my ps3 is currently JB with geohots jb but i want kmeaw so i can run backed up games. But when i go into recovery and try to update to usb it tells me to connect a device with 4.31 update or higher.

What you need to do is download 3.55 OFW. Then you need to install that normally, you don't install it via the recovery menu. Do it by going

Settings>>System Update>> Update Via Storage Media >> Update to 3.55 OFW.

Once you have done this you can now install 3.55Kmeaw the exact same way.

You will need Rogero Downgrader PUP or Rebug 999 Downgrader.
Or worse case you had a disk with newer update in the drive whilst updating and your screwed
