Some theorists claim that forced transition to Digital television broadcasting is practical realization of Big Brother concept. They claim that miniature cameras and microphones are built into Set-top boxes and newer TV sets to spy on people. Another claim describes use of mind control technology that would be hidden in the digital signal and used to subvert the mind and feelings of the people and for subliminal advertising. When you buy your Digital TV be sure to check it out for hidden cameras!

I dont think they will do this since it violates peoples privacy.

Yes, but the government already have access to your phone and stuff. They're aloud too, they can see EVERY website you go on.

Of course they do. But cameras? They would be considering seeing pornography if your naked in front of your tv changing your clothes, getting out of the shower, ect....

I don't think this is true since someone would have discovered their TV box transmitting info. Also, there is mind control technology in our TVs, its called television programs.

Well I wouldn't doubt it. After 9/11(or maybe before) the government has been really up with this stuff. Monitoring text messages, phone calls, emails, web searches, and if this is true it wouldn't surprise me. I don't think they care about peoples privacy anymore except for their own.

Ah, this reminds me of some of the Assassin's Creed 2 backstory in the puzzles. Everything is going to digital though. It's just easier and more convenient. Electronics are the future, so it has to be as convenient as possible. I think things like this are possible, but not going to happen. I don't think the government needs to do that in particular to spy on us and to control us. It would be too easy to catch them doing it. Sure, not easy for us type of people that know only very little about technology, but there are those that would easily catch them. Drones and public cameras are more probable spy tools for the government.

This is a video that addresses this kind of stuff as it is said by Alex Jones, it's obviously made in a sarcastic and silly way but he does produce a lot of good videos refuting this stuff.

Maybe I went a bit over board with the camera, but the Government can do anything.
