I play him with Hummels at CB, Lahm at LB and Piszczek at RB.

I replaced Subotic. I have also tried Boateng and Felipe Santana, Badstuber, and Naldo.

This mix has been the best by far! He has pace in the 70s so won't get outpaced to much. But his defensive stats are brilliant! Him and Hummels just seem to squash any threat there is! I used to have 3 CBs and that didn't work, but with a RB and LB it works brilliantly. The outside guys are there to take the ball off once Howedes or Hummels have literally floored the opponent.

He does seem quite expensive when stats are not that different to other CBs in the league, but well worth the cost.

Being German also helps to ensure I have maximum green chem links across the field, but this isn't that important.

End of the day, hes got pace, and WILL stop 99.9% of threats. He does feel less responsive to other CBs in the league but give him 5-10 games trial to adjust to him and you will not look back - thats a promise!
