Exactly, I still treat the channel like a business but if you are only in to for the money you will end up producing horrible content and forget about the fun stuff.

i hate youtube. i had over 1k video views per day over the summer. i could have applied for any partnership but my most viewed video was removed falsely for violating community guidelines. the video had about 100k views so socialblade subtracted those views and it made my daily views like negative 200 and now i have 85 views per day and the strike is finally gone. i just dont have the time now to build my channel again. there is also too many channels on youtube now to get noticed unless you're really original

A lot of people still think youtube doesn't partner. The more you're active, the more features you get. I have custom thumbnails, make 100% of my own money,15+ minute videos, monetization, and they are releasing banners soon.

I have the same features, the only downside to being directly partnered from YouTube is the community connections to game companies and publishers.
