Hey guys Mr Familiar here, and I was wondering if anyone could give me any pointers and things that I could take into account for editing? Much appreciation to all responses.

Use both After Effects and Vegas to get the best results.

Use twixtor, good color correction. The rest is up to you.

Take it slow, watch tutorials. Try some small edits, you can't become good straight away.

Only one thing. Sync. if you're editing cod, sync every single shot with the song.
Anyone who can sync will be at a higher point than who just use presets.

Since you are this new, I would suggest you go with Sony Vegas as your first program. It's simple, easy to find presets for effects and transitions for example. After a while of advancing in editing, then you might want to look into some other programs, such as Adobe After Effects and Cinema 4D. But take your time, and get to know Sony Vegas first.

Watch a lot of tutorials, and also other edits! This will give you an idea of what people enjoy watching, and also what effects are good to use and when to use them.

When you start to edit, don't copy the tutorials to 100%, follow them, and then when the tutorial is over, change things, experiment with different options within that effect you just watched a tutorial on, and see what looks the best for you.

A really important thing in edits, at least for me, is the color correction, that can be crucial if a person will watch it or not. BUT!! Make it personal, don't use a preset and go with that without changing anything, or download a Color correction pack and doesn't change it. If you're making your own though, think about the brightness, you don't want it to be too dark nor too bright.

Don't expect the result to be mind blowing amazing at first, the first one you make, may disappointed you, but DO NOT give up, you WILL get better and better by each edit.

Good luck! :bigups:
