Read the first bit as it leads on to the topic at hand, although it seems completely irrelevant

Okay so in French today my friend said the answer to a question which my teacher asked, and she didn't hear him, then my friend blurted out the answer and she said "Well done!" then my friend was going on about how he said the answer first then she said "I heard him so he gets the credit"
Just think about that, couldn't that be how everything has happened? Someone else did all the work but someone else told everyone, so they get all of the credit and praise for it? Maybe. Also, History could also be a complete lie in this sense because History has been mainly wrote by men, and there is no video proof of anything so it could all be a complete load of sh*t and just made up.

Don't think I'm insane, was just a thought ;) Post what you think down below

Well, history is written by the victors.
Things always look one sided in History because people would often exaggerate their wins.

For instance, it could have been that there wasn't actually 300 Spartans at the Battle of Thermopylae, there could have been many many more, or many fewer Persians.

Exactly, there's no way we can 100% trust anything which has supposedly happened without hard evidence

I Was just about to say that, i'm pretty sure you stole that quote from Modern Warfare 2. Captain Price: ''History is written by the victors, history is filled with liars''

Winston Churchill said that.
It's a great quote, rings true in every sense.

I love the quote "History is written by the victor" because it really is so true.

Also media controls so much of history they can twist words to whatever they want and most people will just accept that.

It seems like media corruption is the answer to every post on this forum..

OT:
I wouldn't call it "lies". It's more like an exaggeration, everyone does it. You do something small but you want to make it seem mightier? Instead of helping a little old lady across the street, you carried her across the street to the hospital because she was mugged.

It doesn't mean we can't trust history, it just means we need to find more proof to back it up.

So multiple accounts from neighboring nations, artifacts or even being mentioned in the bible can be looked for in validating stories. Obviously, if it was lies, a country that lost can't really say they won if they no longer exist.

I believe history pretty well, it may not be 100% accurate but it's very close. Who are we to argue? We weren't alive then.
