I solderd everything I needed to on the motherboard. I don't have the nand yet because I can't get it. Will I be able to use the jtag without the flashed image?

A modded NAND is what allows you to run XeXMenu and everything. So no, you will not be able to run XeXMenu without a modded NAND.

No modded nand is the same as a retail console.

Also you probably should have extracted the NAND before soldering anything.

How can I retrieve the nand? I went to radio shack today and picked up: 25 Pistion-Male D-Sub Connecter,
D-Sub Connector Hood, Leaded Solder, Soldering iron, 330-0hm 1/Watt Carbon Film Resistors, Rosin Soldering Flux, 1N914.1N4148 Switching Diodes, Wires, and 6-ft. USBA to Centronics Parallel Printer Cabel. Anything im missing?

I never extracted the nand with an LPT cable. I just use a nand-x, it makes things really easy. You can do the same thing with a j-runner. You can get one for about $20.
