Honestly, can you? I dont mean boosting like with bots and shit but like doing it the old mw2 way by going in and getting some headshots?? I have seen some friends do it for time now and they havent got banned

YES, you can get banned.
Boosting
Any user who colludes with another user to exploit the game for the purpose of gaining XP, prestige, game score, weapon level, or in-game unlock is subject to penalty.
First offence: User will be temporarily banned from playing the game online, will have their stats & emblems reset, and will have their leaderboard entries deleted.
Second offence: User will be temporarily banned from playing the game online, will have their stats & emblems reset, will have online split-screen privileges revoked, and will have their leaderboard entries deleted.
Extreme or multiple repeat offences: User will be permanently banned from playing the game online, will have their stats & emblems reset, and will be blocked permanently from appearing in leaderboards.

Yes you can get banned for boosting.
but they're usually not permanent.
my friend got temp ban for 2 weeks and all his stats were reset.

If you get caught doing it by an in game moderator or if you are reported by someone for doing it, then yes. If you can actually get a way with it, no.
It's the same with all Call of Duty games, if you get reported enough or actually caught doing it then yes you will get banned. Especially on newer games, this is very RISKY
