Yeah, I'd recommend getting an Elgato. Like Ray Lewis said, its good, fast and compact. I personally have a Hauppauge Pvr; I find it a hassle to use. The Elgato is also cheaper, and has the same quality as a pvr I think. Don't quote me on that though.

I've had the PVR for about a year now, and compared to most capture cards back when it was released it was top of the line, but compared to the Elgato it's bulky, has way too many wires coming in and out of it, I need 12 wires coming in and out of it, including the power and USB wire, 10 wires just to be able to record on a Standard definition TV, nuts. I don't know how many wires you can get away with on an HDTV but I don't think you need all 10 for it. On top of all that you have the lag input, it takes like 2 seconds for it to transfer from what you actually do on you're TV, to get to the computer screen. Plus with the Elgato you have that playback feature which lets you record gameplay even if you forgot to press record, which I do a lot. I'm not sure which has the better quality, they both look roughly the same in that department. Overall I would definitely recommend the Elgato, even though I don't have one myself, I'm seriously considering buying one so I don't have to put up with those damn wires.

Depends where you're looking to go. If your still not sure on which one to get, check out this thread for a guide on them. This should help you make your decision.

I personally like the PVR2 over the Elgato. Simply because if you are not wanting to record, you don't have to. The Elgato records everything, and takes up more space on your hard drive.

HD PVR. No doubt the best on the market. Very reliable and great quality.
