I have just upgraded my 6 year old pc with a Asus Geforce GT610 and i still get lagg when playing runescape on high quality. It still drops frames and isn't completely smooth like RS 2007.

Any ideas on whats the problem? And how do i use these 'tweak' controls on the software that i got with it?

Is it because i don't have enough ram? or is it my cpu? or what???

List all your components and we can see if the other components are causing the issues. Also make sure you are running the latest drivers, this may be causing the issues too.

If you're using a 6 year old pc, the rest of your components are probably bottlenecking the 610.

It's because the GT 610 is an extremely weak card that's not made to do anything more than simple video output for casual usage. I can assume that a game like Runescape would be much, much more dependant on the CPU than the graphics card, anyway.

What is the model number of your PC? If it's custom-built, what are the specs? Also, do you have a budget for upgrades?

I believe runescape doesn't require a powerful computer to run it on, rather a fast internet connection speed.

I've played it on some very old computers before on max settings absolutely fine, but my internet is a half decent speed.

Make sure you're connected to a server with a low ping.

You answered your own question. Those parts couldn't run Minecraft at 30FPS.

If you've got crap parts, just having a good GPU wont do anything. It will just bottleneck.
