cursedday wrote Deck - Toy Machine, Baker, or Almost. (Been my best)
Trucks - Thunder
Wheels - Spitfire or Ricta
Bearings - Bones Reds
Grip tape - I use Jessup
Hardware - I'd say Destructo
Risers - I don't use Risers but It's W/e you like.

The deck size all depends on your shoe size. Having bigger feet means you're going to want a wider deck. Smaller feet I'd say you'd want a 7.5 or something.

This is my opinion. I don't skate much anymore but I always liked this set up.

I've had Elements, Bakers, Toy Machines, Enjoi, Plan B, and right now I have a Mullen Almost Double Impact.

For Shoes I like Zoo York and Nike SB.

Thats a good setup! I liked to skate girl, real, and chocolate when I did skate.
When I went to order my decks I always considered getting Girl but I got into other decks and never did get one. Haha

My Girl board was really good!
Yeah, Everybody says they're great decks. If I get back into skating and my board breaks I'll probably end up with a Girl.

What I have right now. Haven't skated in a while but they are good. If you do get one I'd say get a Mullen deck. If you don't know who Rodney Mullen is look up videos on youtube. He is amazing..

I skate bro and film. If you are wanting to start skateboarding it's really easy dude! Go to your local skate shop and ask them to hook you up. Most skate stores have people who are more than happy to help you.

First off, all you need is a deck, some grip, some trucks, some wheels, some bearings and hardware. You're looking at about 100 for your first setup.

I highly recommend buying stuff on the cheaper end of the scale if you are a beginner. The reason being is after you have been skating for a while and have learnt your basic kickflip, pop shuv, frontside and backside etc. You will begin to have your own preference for how you like your board to be set up and how you like to ride it.

For example, when I started skateboarding I used to skate a 7.5 inch deck with low trucks, super tight trucks and 56 mm wheels. I now ride an 8.125 inch deck, high trucks, 50 mm wheels and super loose trucks.

If you spend a fortune and then realise you don't like to ride that kind of set up you might not be able to afford to change your ride.

I'll also help with some tips...

Learn on loose trucks. You may feel uncomfortable at first but loose trucks give you a better understanding of how you should ride your board and is a lot more forgiving on landing tricks. If you land a trick slightly off balance you can correct it. However, I find with tight trucks you cannot. You should be able to ride and cruise your board and not tic tac everywhere. Where did skateboarding come from? Surfing. Imagine your riding a concrete wave.

Skate as much as possible and skate with local skaters that are better than you. Don't be embarrassed because you might suck, All skaters like all skaters no matter how good or bad they are. That is a great thing about the skate community. You will also improve rapidly if you are learning from and skating with good skaters.

Do not skate anything lower than 7.75 deck. Unless of course you have midget feet. I recommend anything between 7.75 and 8.25 (I ride an 8.125) However, again this is a preference and you will find out what size deck suites you. My feet are size 9.

Look at trick tips on youTube and ask skaters to help you out. Sometimes you might be doing something wrong and all it takes is for someone to tell you to switch it up a little.

Of course, the most important tip of all. Have fun! Do not go and skate and get annoyed that you can't land anything because you won't improve and you'll just anger yourself. You'll notice that new tricks come from days chillin' with your homies trying mad tricks and joking around.

I hope you get involved in a sport that means a great deal to me.

Good luck and peace brother!

All i'm going to say is the most frustrating thing in skating is learning an ollie. But you might start off and can do it or your gonna have a hard time doing it, so just don't give up on it.

ever wrote Have fun spending about 200 dollars for your setup. Thats only if you get Pro things.

Not True you can get a pretty decent board setup for under 100 or 120 at the most.

With a size 5 shoe I would start with a smaller deck maybe a 7.4 because im a 7.5 and ride a 7.6, its just probably my preference. I could make a custom complete on ccs and give you the link for a pretty decent board setup.
