I do not agree with you at all on this; people resort to religion because they don't like the idea that their lives are worthless. Religion gives one a reason to carry on living and a purpose in life.

Although I am completely atheist I do agree with a lot of morals in religion, such of which keep most people sane and respectful of one another. I'm Walking on thin ice when I say this but society would be a lot more violent if the uneducated didn't have religion to fall back on. They expect an straight answer for everything and unfortunately science can't supply that, there is a lot of unknowns in the universe; some people can accept that and some people can't.

I have had my run in with weather I believe or not, and I have made up my mind a couple of years ago.

Growing up I was a christian, went to church on Sunday, prayed with my family. As I sat in church & I heard the preacher do his thing, all of it didn't seem to add up.

The preacher all ways told us "If you do good to people, goodness will be given back". That has never been the case in me life. Not once, ever!

I am now official Buddhist. I believe that I should just have a little fun in life, be happy, going through the motions. Have fun in your life and not take things to seriously. No need for all of that. Eat.Fun.Sleep.Fun.Repeat.

im only 17 and ive travled the world pretty much witch is lucky for me just last year i went on a cruise to belieze seeing how bad everyone lives their 16 year olds with fully auto machine guns storys of rape and other horrific things its hard for me to belive a "god" would put someone is such a shitty postion

and if god is real why did the bible only come around recently i mean why wouldnt he just make the earth as it is and put us all there? but no before christains there was no 1 god so who is this god you all belive in?

egpytians belived in many gods and cavemen had no idea of anything so why would god make humans at first unedacted?

i mean did cavemen who had no idea of god go to heaven or hell (witch i belive both dont even exsist)

Right, this all relates back to the events in the Garden of Eden.
Adam and Eve were not human in the Garden of Eden, they were spirits.
The Garden of Eden wasn't on Earth either, it was in the firmament.

When Eve was tempted by Lucifer to eat from the tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, she forfeited the rights of a perfect existence because now she had sinned and knew about sin.
God then cast them out of the firmament and down to Earth as a form of punishment, mankind now had to redeem itself through faith and devotion in order to gain entrance to the firmament after death.
You would probably know the firmament as 'Heaven'.

Now, remember I said we are on Earth as a form of 'punishment'. It wouldn't be a punishment if no bad things happened.
We unlocked the knowledge of bad things and therefore unleashed bad things upon ourselves.

Now you can say that we shouldn't be punished for something a stupid woman did, but that's a logical fallacy as you're saying you wouldn't have done the same in her position when you didn't know what was happening and thought Lucifer was good because you didn't know about bad yet.


TL;DR; God doesn't stop bad things because that would make his existence obvious and there would be no point in faith, the thing Religion and all of religious history is based on.

I believe in God and Jesus but I'm very open minded... I love science and all that. I'm not exactly one religion sure Christianity, but I disagree on some stuff. I believe in god, because something or someone had to start us off. Sure evolution, but who started evolution which leads me to God or if you don't believe a higher power
