Definitely not. A four core processor is more than sufficient for gaming. Majority of games don't even utilize 4 cores for that matter. Unless you'll be planning on doing some heavy editing, there is not need for anything above 4 in my opinion. And as for the whole AMD vs. Intel crap, the manufacture is irrelevant. What matters is what suits your needs and build.

Gonna have to agree with that, nowadays AMD is really pushing toward the future of gaming.
For the right price you can get a nice rig that will last you a great deal of time.

Look for an i5 and AMD graphics card.

I can show you a budget build I made for a friend for 700. It's only slightly more than yours and is a pretty beast build.

Also usually AMD parts are cheaper.

AMD is pushing toward the future of gaming? How do you figure? A 3570K outperforms an 8320 in nearly all instances. The only spot that AMD is ahead is in GPU architecture. For the right price, you can get a nice rig that will not only last longer, but will perform better.

Usually, cheaper is better, but when it comes to a large part of your daily life and primary source of entertainment, is it really a good option to go cheap with everything? Intel is priced higher than equivalent AMD cards for a reason: they're built to perform and are ahead of AMD.

More cores != more performance. Don't sell yourself out on AMD's more cores and higher GHz marketing scheme. If really required, you could play on a single core CPU, but it wouldn't be as practical. 2 cores are the recommended amount, and if you've got 4, you're golden. It is for this reason that instead of the 8320, you could get an i5 3350p for the same price with better performance.

Think of it this way: You'd want to buy a very pretty house, correct? But what if it was left in the fine print that this specific structure was poorly designed to resist basic weather elements, resulting in a house that while it looks beautiful in design, will slowly fall apart before your eyes. The pretty, yet badly designed house is AMD, and the nuclear bunker down the road is Intel.

AMD is better than intel for gaming? Have you all ever looked at any benchmarks or are you just blindly following AMD?
