Hello TTG, I'm having an issue with my Seagate FreeAgent Go 500GB external hard drive. When I plug it into a USB port, it dings indicating Windows 7 recognizes it, yet it does not show up in "My Computer".
The main suspect in this as of now is that I was dualbooting a different PC using the Seagate to carry an ISO of Kali Linux. The issue described above began after shutting down the other PC and plugging it into my main Win7 one.
When I go into Computer > Manage > Storage > Disk Management, this is how the Seagate appears: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] If I right click on "Disk 1" (which is obviously the one of the two that is the external hard drive), the only options I am given are "Convert to Dynamic Disk", "Convert to GPT Disk", "Properties" (which doesn't do anything useful), and "Help" (again, not useful).
Is this a partition error or could using it as a boot drive of Kali Linux be the culprit? I can not seem to find a way to re-format it either. No rush since all I really use it for right now is storing anime torrents, but since I'm beginning game development I'd prefer to not have to buy a new external hard drive to store that work. Thanks for the help guys. <3 -Kyou-
