Could this be the cause of my jtag's rrod? [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
That is the thermal paste on the GPU. It's the same on the CPU. Could this cause a rrod?

Yes possibly, clean the thermal paste of then add your own thermal paste and boom should be fixed ;)
You need:
    Cleaning Acohol
    Cotton Swabs
    Thermal Paste (NEW)
