my battery pack is not holding a long charge and is brand new any reason why its doing this thanks

Just keep the charger plugged in over night, usually works.

It could be it's new and that's why it is not working, it could be anything really.

Usually for your first charge you need to leave it for a few hours to it reaches the highest amount of energy. After that you should be good. I have it and it lasts for days and I'm a regular gamer.

Chack the packaging it contained in and see how long the manufacturer estimates it will last. If it's way off get a refund.
