a xbox 360 development kit are so expensive due to them being very rare as they are not meant to be released to the public (game developers use these console to well obuisley develop and edit there games) these consoles are similar to rgh's and jtags in the way that they run unisighned code meaning you can run emulators mod games such as call of duty one of the extra features of a xdk is that you can do cpu debugging and game debugging (i wont go into detail about what they are as i dont know much aabout them) these consoles are very desirable to ither a collector or someone who would like to learn how to create a game test games and cpu debugging tipically you get people buying these consoles thinking oh i can mod cod but its not that simple and these consoles are capable of so much more but if you google xbox 360 development kit/xdk or xbox dev kit then look for the wikipedia link then have a read it will tell you some more information about xbox dev kits

EDIT: i almost forgot this console is the xna edition wich is all the more rare plus its hdmi most xdk's are just white and black with a white or black sidecar (the tall thing on top) some look just like regular console untill you turn it on anyway as i was saying all of the cases on a regular xdk look just like a regular xbox but the xna edition has some detail on the case which look pretty sweet in my opinion
