yes go with windows 7 windows 8 is just nasty and i tried it and i switched back to windows 7 in just 30 mins of having windows 8

windows 7, my parents recently purchased a laptop with windows 8 and it is horrible.

I currently use Windows 8 Pro. I already got used to the new UI. It's not THAT hard to get used to. People need to embrace change rather than beseech it. Whole point of creating new OSs is to appeal to the future market, i.e. tablets, AIOs, etc...

I don't know what I'd say because I don't want to tie you down. But lets get the facts.

Windows8:
Faster boot time
takes up less CPU usage due to streamlined background tasks.
Connected to Xbox Live.
Earn achievements for your gamertag.

Windows7:
More programs are optimized for windows 7
^ That's all I can think of

But since a lot of programs are made for Windows 7 you can always use compatibility mode if you're on Windows 8!
