"I think therefore I am" - Cogito ergo sum
It comes down to the philosophical concept that you can't undeniably prove the existence of anything but yourself; One can take the concept of thoughts to prove your own existence but not to prove that of other people, considering you're not apparent within their mind and so can't prove they think nor exist as individuals.

I think it's an interesting topic but it does take the assumption that a thought proves the existence of oneself, of which may be contradicting the whole philosophical theory; Well that's my interpretation of it. I don't think anything can be ultimately and undeniably proven in this sense at all. But then again I am thinking, I do believe and agree with my existence. A lot of this comes down to personal interpretations of which again can't be proven nor disproven and it's this of which frustrates me with philosophy. Although it's great at stimulating the mind, a lot are based on subjective views on life and lack the rational and logical approach.
