What is the point of buying a $1000 CPU when just a $310 (i7 3770k) would do nearly everything you want and still have so much extra power.

With just the money you saved on the CPU you could nearly buy a GTX690.

I'm being rational, I don't want that CPU even if I was offered it because I know I wouldn't ever use it all.

This is why people build custom PC's, so that they can build a machine and add the parts you know you're going to need, but you just sound like someone that buys things to brag about and pay the premium.

Why not just be an Apple fanboy with that kind of perona.
