Right click on your game by finding the game in your 'Program files' and then right click on the actual game in the folder then click on properties a window should pop up then you scroll to the tab on the little window called ''Compatibility'' and click ''Run this program as Administrator'' and then click ''Run this program in compatibility mode for:'' now all you have to do is tick the box and click any mode on the slide. Now all you do is click apply and okay and you are done.
- Sorry if someone has said that all ready.
I hope I helped.

When you say it's starting to freeze, is there any chance you could be more precise? Do you get any errors or does it just stop responding? Does your entire system crash?

no but its kinda sporadic, like it will run fine for 20min or so then it just freezes and keeps freezing at the same spot....i have had no other system issues at all...i know my pc can handle it, i have a mid grade gaming pc....so it should run it just fine.

what are your pc specs? im assuming you have a good enough rig to run it and if not you can always get some graphic mods that make the game run smoother.

What OS are you running? Fallout 3 has been known to have these kinds of issues on Windows 7.
Try doing this:
If that doesn't work, let me know, there are more fixes, I believe.
Try doing this:
tomshardware wrote Open up the fallout.ini file in: My Documents\My Games\Fallout3
Find the line:
bUseThreadedAI=0
change it to:
bUseThreadedAI=1
Add another line after it and insert:
iNumHWThreads=2
This will limit the game to 2 cores and prevent the engine bug from causing the game to freeze.
If that doesn't work, let me know, there are more fixes, I believe.
