Its OK but I suggest you get a bigger power supply in case you upgrade in the future it also helps to know your budget

FWD wrote Dont cheap out on the power supply. 500w may seem sufficient but it will not do well if you upgrade much in the future.

I suggest a Corsair, though, like you already have. Just an 800w would be more suitable.

you kidding me 500w is more than enough for what he has, im running and oc'ed i7 3770k and a hd 7970 on a 550w, when i play games it just gets to 430w

It doesn't matter what is classed as 'enough', 500w is low end nowadays and in terms of upgradability for the future it doesn't stand much chance. A better PSU, more cost efficient memory and perhaps an SSD if you have the cash to spare would be ideal.

The power isn't the issue here!
He has an old motherboard that is socket LGA 775 and only supports DDR2 RAM.
Put simply his processor and RAM won't be compatible.

I didn't even look at that, I can't even find a record of the motherboard that he's posted anywhere online, but if it only supports DDR2 then it must be ridiculously old, especially considering that DDR3 has been around since the mid 2000's.

Here it is if you are wondering.

I knew by looking at it, it wasn't compatible. I hope this guy has not ordered yet.

He can't have ordered it, it's discontinued. Just out of curiosity how did you come to the conclusion of that being the motherboard he's talking about? There are plenty of P45 labelled motherboards and that one doesn't match what he said he has.

This compatible motherboard is a closer match than that one:

I'm not saying he's ordering from there.
But good point, looking at the model now they are two different boards.
After a quick google search I can't find his board either. Maybe it was a typo.

Guys...

He accidentally typed "13" instead of "B." He's referring to the B75MA-P45. The CX500 is not the best but it's plenty adequate.

OP, you need to include more information, like where you're from, what your budget is, etc.
