Dont be a |)ick he is new thetechgame and deserves respect, A kv is a code that you put it in the JTAG it unbans it and keeps it unbanned until the kv runs out (it runs on hours) So once they kv runs out the JTAG gets banned until u put a new one in.

Anyways, as most people here have said, a KV, or Key Vault, contains Keys that an Xbox 360 uses to go online. Once you JTAG your Xbox 360 and take it Online, Microsoft picks up on it, and bans those keys. Then you buy a KV from someone, which replaces your keys with another set of unbanned ones. But it is very easy for Microsoft to tell if your Keys have been switched. That is why Key Vaults don't last long these days.

This is the Dashboard version you have to have in order to JTAG an xbox. anything above that "kernel" number has been patched to stop the JTAG mod.

System Settings > Console Settings > System Info. The most current Dashboard kernel is 2.0.>9199<.0

Your console has to be lower than 7371 to JTAG. But in some cases, it might already be patched. You have to dump your NAND and check your CB to find out.
