Very comprehensive :-)

Might I add that removing or cleaning your cache can help to speed up your browsing experience

To effectively 'destroy' traces try crapcleaner -
[ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
Try it and see how much 'crap' it cleans.
In there you will find defraggler and recuva (recover lost files)

If/when using CC cleaner please don't try the registry editor unless you know what you're doing. However it gives an option to backup and restore registry.

I notice you mention AVG, Avira and Zone Alarm. These have become klutzy and tend to slow things up.

Try [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] - here you will find older guaranteed versions of very popular programmes - if using ZA don't go any lower than version 5.5.94
[ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
You may get an option to use the Pro (paid version), select FREE.
If using AVG or Avira, turn off mail checking - and one other thing, don't try to use two firewalls, or antiviruses at the same time.
Personally I use MSE (Microsoft Security Essential)and keep the others for 'standby' and run them occasionally.
Spybot S&D, MBam, and DynDNS updater combined with COmodo firewall and comodo Dragon browser (an offshoot of Chrome) are keeping me safe :-)
Praise indeed to your effort, thanks
Tommy
