Well firstly for me, I only got my top brace, then 16 weeks later, got my bottom brace, and my bottom brace hurt a lot, which was only because 2 off my teeth was twisted sideways, and the teeth which was twisted was grinding on the other teeth, but for the first few days of having my top brace I just ate soft food, e.g Ice cream, Weatabix (A soft wheat cereal) and toast and stuff, but really all in all, if you take some pain killers you should be all good, I never thought pain killers worked for anything, which they never did with me, but they really help with your mouth, hope this helped:)

Capital_E wrote So I just got my braces put on after school today.
The dentist told me some general info, how to keep them clean, what to expect, etc.
But I was wondering if anyone who has previously had braces could tell me some more?
Like what to expect pain wise the first few days, best things to eat, and general care info.

Just take an alive twice a day for the first five days and you wont have any pain. The only thing that will hurt is hard foods. Try to eat soft food for atleast the first week. The pain eventually wears away and you become more and more used the them in your mouth. I have had mine on for 3 years and im supposed to get them off in a couple weeks.
