About
Far Cry 3 is an open-world first-person shooter that was developed by Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft. It was released on November 29, 2012 for Australia, November 30, 2012 for Europe, and December 2, 2012 for North America (December 4th in Canada) for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Microsoft Windows. It is the third main title in the Far Cry series, but is not a direct sequel to either Far Cry or Far Cry 2.

Setting
Far Cry 3 is set on a tropical Asian-Pacific archipelago called the Rook Islands. The game's protagonist is a young irish american man named Jason Brody who is trying to save his imprisoned friends and escape the hostile islands.

Plot
The game starts Jason Brody(Protagonist) on vacation with a group of friends in Bangkok during which they decide to take a skydiving trip. Landing on a presumable uninhabited island, they are shortly taken captive by privates, head my Vaas Montenegro. Vaas plans on holding them, in an attempt to extort randsom money from the young adults wealthy parents. Then, sell them into slavery to Vaas's boss Hoyt. While being held hostage Jason and Grant(Protagonists brother) manage to escape the camp where it leads to Grants death at the hand of Vaas. Jason has no choice but to keep feeing from Vaas's pirates where eventually Jason is forced to jump a cliff and land in rocky water to escape. Jason is saved by an islander named Dennis. Dennis teaches him the way of the Rakyat and is told to master the jungle. And so begins Jason Brodys task to save his friends and make it off the island.

Playable Missions
Their are 5 different kinds of missions you can play in Far Cry 3:
1. Main Story- Play as Jason Brody as he tries to save his friends and escape.
2. Path of the Hunter- You are given a weapon and are told to hunt certain animals. Some "Quests" will yield rare animal pelts which can be used for upgrades.
3. Wanted Dead- You are given a target and like Rakyat tradition assassinate him with you machete.
4. Supply Drop- Delivering supplies to help out local villages within a certain time limit.
5. Side Missions- Helping local islanders with various tasks.
(All yield XP for leveling up)

Character Description (According to Wiki)
Jason Brody- The protagonist of Far Cry 3. Jason came to the Rook Islands while on a skydiving trip with a group of friends and was captured by pirates.
Riley Brody- The younger brother of Jason and Grant Brody and the protagonist of Far Cry 3, Riley is a novice pilot and helps Jason during the game.
Grant Brody- Older brother of Jason and Riley Brody. Not much is know.
Citra- Vaas' sister and one of the few people of the island who appears to be on Jason's side. She is leader of the local tribe on the island and will help throughout the game by giving you missions to complete.
Sam Becker- At first Sam looks like a highly aggressive Privateer but this is later confirmed as his persona to maintain his cover. He joined the Privateers with the sole intention to kill Hoyt Volker but after he lost contact with his handler, Willis Huntley, he was forced to wait until he met Jason Brody.
Dennis Rogers- One of Jasons aids. Gives advice and teaches Jason of the Rakyat ways and traditions. And once a sergeant in the Marine Corps.
Dr. Alec Earnhardt- Is another insane character inhabiting the islands of Far Cry 3. He, however, is of some help to the player and is an ally. Shelters Jasons friends from Vaas and is the one that helps save Daisy Lee.
Daisy Lee- Was Grant Brody's girlfriend and is part of the group of friends Jason must rescue throughout the game.
Vincent Salas- Jason Brody's friend, Vincent Salas, accompanied him and his friends to the Rook Islands as confirmed during the intro of the game. He appeared in the nightclub flashbacks as well.
Vaas Montenegro- Is the secondary antagonist of Far Cry 3 and is the poster character for the game, being featured in numerous promotional materials. "Did I ever tell you the definition of insanity?"
Hoyt Volker- Is the primary antagonist of Far Cry 3. He is described as 'armageddon' compared to Vaas and works in slave trafficking and murder.[1] He is the leader of the Privateers and also rules the Southern Island. According to Dennis, Hoyt was the source of "all the evil" happening on the island.
"Buck"- Buck buys Keith from Hoyt, using him as a sex slave and as leverage to coerce Jason Brody into finding a long lost and priceless Chinese ceremonial dagger hidden somewhere on the North Island.
Keith Ramsay- After being captured by Vaas, he was sold into slavery by Hoyt Volker, and is sold to Buck. It is heavily implied that Buck raped Keith while Keith was in his possession. Jason learns Keith is in Buck's possession and begins to hunt Buck.

Animals

American Crow

The Rakyat consider crows to be the harbingers of misfortune.

Vulture

Vultures are the scavengers of the island. They may appear in any place with fresh or not so fresh meat. They will fly away if they get scared. To hunt them, a long range shot before they take off will be a good choice.

Macaque

The macaque lives in the jungle but some are also kept as pets. This passive animal will flee if you are too close.

Deer

Deer are fast and easily frightened. Approach them using stealth, and attack them using the bow to strike from long range and avoid alerting the entire herd. A deer corpse is a good lure/bait for bears.

Asian Tapir

The tapir is a native animal that lives in woodland or wetland. They are often mistaken for pigs, because they are similar in terms of body shape and behavior, but can be identified by their elephant-like trunk.. They also move faster than pigs.

Dingo

Dingoes lives in woodlands and plains. They won't harm people if they are left alone. When attacked by dingoes, an automatic weapon is useful since they move very fast. They also enjoy carrion, so a nice fat pig corpse will be tasty treat for them.

Rabid Dog

Rabid dogs are sick, literally. They appear on scrubland or near civilization, and can be distinguished from dingoes by their gruesome appearance. These dogs are very aggressive, and will attack anything that moves. If you meet a group of rabid dogs, youd better have a powerful weapon in hand.

Cassowary

The cassowary is a huge bird living in the jungle. These big birds are very dangerous if they are offended. A cassowary's talons are razor sharp, and extremely deadly. However it seems that they can't take too many bullets, after all it's only a bird.

Boar

The boar can be easily distinguished from a regular pig by its long tusks; they roam the woodlands and/or plains. They try to avoid people, but when they feel threatened, they will attack. The boar is a good bait for leopards.

"Hope you aren't kosher, because boars are the primary food source on Rook Island."

Buffalo

Wild buffalo can be found near water. Normally, they are peaceful animals, but if they are annoyed, it's very hard to escape their attack. Since they are so tough, a powerful weapon is required to kill them. Buffalo corpses can be used to lure tigers.

Komodo Dragon

Komodo Dragons are native lizards found in plains or near beaches. They feed on carrion and, even though they seems passive, getting too close is dangerous. To kill this giant lizard, a powerful weapon is necessary. Goat meat has proven to be good bait for this animal.

Leopard

Leopards are masters of stealth. They live in woodland or mountains. They always approach quietly and attack at high speed, so it is the best to use a fully automatic weapon to tackle them. When hunting for leopards, deer corpses will be good lures. If you spot one from far away that hasn't noticed you, a quick M-700 shot to the head of it will kill it instantly.

Tiger

Tigers are second most dangerous animals on island before Asian Black Bears.Tigers are highly agressive and it is advised not to aproach them unless for crafting.Tigers are often see hunting other animals (Buffalos mostly), as for killing tiger a powerful weapon is neaded (shoutguns are useful).To lure a tiger Buffalo corpses are good baits.

Asian Black Bear

The Asian black bear is commonly found eating fruits, grass, and herbs, but it happens to be the most dangerous animal on the island. It can be found in caves, near rivers or in the jungle. It has very powerful attack and tough body. To kill a bear, you need strong weapons, preferably firearms. Alternatively, if you have unlocked the Shredder signature Vector .45 ACP, you can spray the bear on full auto to kill it in seconds. To lure a bear, you need a deer corpse.

Saltwater Crocodile

Saltwater crocodiles are found spread through rivers and lake areas. They are skilled in ambush and camouflage. Most of the time they remain quiet and alert, so you could be surprised by a sudden wide open mouth full of sharp 'teeth if you are not careful when stepping into rivers or lakes. A medium caliber firearm is enough to take down a croc at range, but if you get caught, a quick counterattack with a machete is your only hope. Be aware that crocodiles will try to ambush you lurking in groups of lotus floating in the rivers, look carefully to them to discover the predator.

Giant Galapagos'tortoise

The Giant tortoise is the biggest tortoise on the island. Its shell can protect it from arrows and small caliber firearms, so fire weapons, large caliber firearms, or a couple machetes to the front of it where there is no shell is necessary to kill it.

Sea Turtle

Sea turtles can be found resting on beaches or swimming in the ocean surrounding the island. Coral reefs are hotspots for these majestic reptiles.

Goat

Goats have been on Rook Island for as long as people can remember and are used for food, clothing and more. Islanders consider Goat theft a serious offense and shin anyone who commits this crime. Goat loving, however, is condoned as long as you hoof it after. Get it? hoof it? Come on, can't an old man have a little fun with animals.

The Heron
Cook Grenades- Allows you to hold the grenade button to cook a grenade.

Hip Shooter- Gives you better hip-fire accuracy with SMGs, pistols and shotguns.

Syringe Potency- The effects from Syringes that you create will last 25% longer.

Aimed Reload- Allows you to reload any pistol or sniper rifle while aiming.

Death from Above- Press a button to kill an enemy directly below you with x5 experience per kill

Death from Below- Press the Right Stick kill an enemy on a climbable ledge with x5 experience per kill.

Enhanced Syringe Potency- Effects from crafted syringes will last 50% longer.

Steady Aim- Pressing a button while looking through a scope will keep the weapon steady twice as long.

Line Gunner- Allows you to shoot certain weapons while on the zipline.

Soft Landing- Fall damage is lessened by 25%.

Cool Gunner- Req': 10 Mounted Gun Kills. Mounted guns fire longer before overheating.

Breath Control- You can steady an aimed gun 4 times longer.

Marathon Man- Req': Collect 5 Relics You can sprint faster.

Dual Death From Above- Req': 1 Death from Above Takedown You can now jump down and kill 2 enemies for x7.5 XP per kill.

Dual Death From Below- Req': 1 Death from Below Takedown. You can now kill 2 enemies above you for x7.5 XP per kill.

Gunslinger Takedown- Req': 10 Handgun Kills Allows to take an enemy's pistol and kill others with it.

The Spider

Sprint Slide- While sprinting, you can press a button that will cause you to go into a slide.

Jungle Run- You can move quicker while crouched.

Takedown Drag- Allows you to drag and hide bodies after performing a normal takedown.

Running Reload- Lets you reload your weapong while sprinting.

Expert Archery- There is less movement when you are zoomed in with the bow.

Expert Swimmer- Move 25% quicker in water when you hit a button.

Horticulture 101- Obtain 2 times more items from plants then you normally would.

The Shark

Takedown- This skills give you the ability to quietly kill an enemy from behind, giving you triple experience.

Adrenaline- Health bars that aren't empty refill 50% faster.

Improved First Aid- Allows you to heal yourself without medicine.

Advanced Conditioning- Gain another health slot.

Field medic- Medical Syringes restore 4 health slots.

Field Surgeon- Medical Syringes restore 6 health slots.

Chained Takedown- String together up to 10 takedowns, giving you 10 times more experience per kill.
