What? The rifts around blackholes, time is almost at a stand still.
If you can travel near the speed of light time slows down.
Time is very real or am I misunderstood?
Time is VERY real. We don't create time, we observe it. That is the same as claiming we invented the sun because we can see it.
Chronoception is your ability to sense time. We didn't implant the chronoceptional brain function, it evolved there, just like your other nine senses.

I wouldn't call that time. I'd call that physics or gravity or whatever.

Other effects in the universe also have an effect on time, it's still time just warped by foreign objects like blackholes.
As doctor said above, we only perceive time as far as understanding how it flows or if it flows, we might never know.
I'm tired so this is all very confusing right now.

You'd know what went wrong and make you feel that way and would maybe be able to do something about it.

Going into the future, and killing yourself & going to the past and killing yourself can become very much two different outcomes.
Many of you guys are saying, you would die, and you would have never lived past the day or something. That would be, if you went to the past and killed yourself.
If you went into the future and killed yourself, you would live up to the day and then simply get murdered by your younger body. which would also be a re-occurring process, until practically the end of time.

Why would you go to the future to kill yourself? So stupid.

If you no longer existed you wouldnt of been able to travel in time and kill yourself in the first place.
So it is a paradox.
There are many paradoxes related with time travel, this is one of the reasons 'Time Travel' will never be possible, ever.
I second this explanation...
I third this explanation...

XprN wrote If time travel would ever exist, why has no one come back from the future?
maybe they do but they know that at this time in our life our race is so very young. maybe they did try and come back to us but we thought of them as GODS and maybe jesus? maybe they were the stars that led the 3 kings to bethlehem. maybe they are the UFO's so many people see across the world, maybe its the crop circles that are not man made and talk about our hydron collider etc. all i know is our race is so very young and we are all about exploring and experiencing life to its full but something like this could easily throw our race of course. maybe its not possible to actually go back in time, maybe to only go into the future or maybe only to go in and out of different universe's or planes. in all of the technology that is created in this day and age in 50+ years time i think we will have a better understanding on how all of it works and can hopefully evolve properly into the space age and explore more planets in the distance than ever before.

we invented OUR time, OUR time is basically how OUR planet earth works. we created OUR version of time to keep schedule of how long it would be until light and night we then went on further to milliseconds, seconds, minutes, days, months, years decades so on.
we created OUR version of time to organise our lives and to understand our solar system better measuring OUR version of time against it. time on another planet can be entirely different as there maybe only 5 sets of 60 minutes (5 hours) recorded by us before there day or night changes.
so if we were born on this planet where the days are only 5 hours long and our nights are only 5 days long then our time structure would change significantly our digital clocks would only go upto 10 instead of 24 there the time it takes for 7 days to pass would be measured out faster than the 7 days on earth. Time in space is a difficult thing to cover. Time in space can change from race to race if there are alien civillizations out there, there reason being that we record time minutes hours etc and they may do it differently. for example, time in space, 1 hour which is 60 minutes and 60x60 seconds. 3600 seconds (correct me if im wrong) now an alien civilization may not calculate a second as a second if i make sense, there 1 second maybe 5-6 seconds towards us therefore the time has not changed in the universe but more or less changed how it is perceived.
time is delicate and needed but time is perceived so differently. blackholes have never been actually proven due to its just literally a black hole down the telescope and may pick up gravitational pulls around it but i will try to explain it if there is infact holes that pull everything in. if time is all around us but only in our heads and on clocks etc then time cannot get sucked into a blackhole because time is not an object, it is not an atom.
time is just a way for our brains to understand and for us to keep track of our schedules and ie work, school, drinking etc. time cannot be physically pulled into a blackhole. time is basically for the human race anyway a clock, watch just basically the mechanics ticking behind a watch therefore the only way a black hole can really affect what our time is would be to suck all of our watches and clocks and phones and anything that keeps track of time into it but then we would measure time again by measuring our days and nights earths rotation etc.
if the sun or the earth or the moon had significantly changed then this can change time aswell. this was taken from BBC news "On early Earth, when the Moon was newly formed, days were five hours long, but with the Moon's braking effect operating on the Earth for the last 4.5bn years, days have slowed down to the 24 hours that we are familiar with now, and they will continue to slow down in the future."
