they have been doing clinical testing on what is beilved to be a cure for hiv read article

they say its "affordable" but I can almost gaurntee they will charge countrys such as Africa even in the state that they are . But we have nearlu found a cure lets hope they get it done and sorted ready to help people

Hopefully they do find a cure, it is sad to see people suffer from this disease

Sorry to be a downer but HIV is a retro virus which means basically it turns its RNA into DNA and then stores that DNA into the hosts. You can't just cut out a certain base pairs in a chain of billions. Also HIV has such a high mutation rate. That's why there hasn't been a cure.
Just some neat facts though are
You have cell receptors for many viruses on your cells allowing them in
Also about 40% of our DNA may actually be ancient viruses that once infected humans.

Yea but like other viruses some people are immune to hiv because of a mutation that would have happened to there cell receptors. I didn't look at the OP link but I would guess it would be some what based of this. I could be wrong but w/e.

there already is a cure for HIV but the only problem is that its so expensive that the normal everyday citizen could never afford it

Actually it originated from the Eastern part of the world... During the black plague.
It did not allow the HIV virus to take it's course of action, and not even showing up positive on tests. You cannot undo RNA back into DNA and replace it. This would cause something we know as a 'mutation'.
