Just do this.
If you haven't already set up freestyle dash.
Boot up FSD and make sure you have either a Ethernet cable or wireless adapter connect before hand. Read in the bottom left hand corner, and there you will see your systems IP. Just type the IP that you see there into the FTP program in which you are using.

Try restarting your router.

Sounds like the xbox network settings for IP address is set to manual.

I would check that, its a good idea to leave it on manual if your going to [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] . Just change the address from 196.254.x.x to 192.168.1.x and make sure your gate way is set to 192.168.1.1

That should fix your problem, if that's whats causing it.

May not help but try this:
Boot xex menu and on the temperature screen you should see your ip (if you have an ethernet connected)
open flash fxp on computer enter the ip leave it on port 21 and username and pass is always xbox.

I have done this too. (Changing settings in system setting to manual ip) but when i go into my ftp program (flashfxp) It doesnt connect to it. I have tried pinging it to see if i can reach it but still nothing. I even have the port forwarded. nad have all firewalls off so im not sure what the problem could be.
