i was just wondering is it a good idea to jailbreak a contract iphone? will it make any difference that i am on contract? will it change anything or block my phone?

Jailbreaking an iphone will not do anything to your contract at all.

It voids the warranty, but if you just restore the iphoen through itunes then it is back under warranty
