Console wars. We've all heard of them, on forums, Youtube videos, every day conversation. Personally I'm sick of them, and I think that the people that take part in these console wars are ignorant, and not mature enough to even own a console. I find that it's rare to be able to go onto a gaming video on Youtube, and not see a comment chain about which console is better. So let me break it down for you all.
Xbox; Pay to use online services with Microsoft. DLC comes earlier for CoD (a really popular one in comments) Doesn't use Blu-Ray discs. Party chat (higher social integration?).
PlayStation; Free to use online services with SONY. Uses Blu-Ray discs which results in, very slightly, better graphic capabilities? (I don't play PS3 so I'm not sure what the Blu-Ray actually does). Have to be in the same game as someone to be able to speak to each other on a mic.
PC; Again, free to use online services (internet fees not included). Graphic capabilities depend on what GPU you have installed. Fully customisable components. No party chat? (Again not sure as I don't play on PC). Games much cheaper if you buy them during a Steam Sale.
Each platform has its ups and its downs. It seems to me, that all people want to do is argue about which is best. Sometimes I've seen it go far enough for people to tell others to "go get cancer and die" because they're playing on the "wrong" platform. Let me tell you now, there is no right or wrong platform to play on. "The best console is the one which your friends play on", I've heard this a few times from a Youtuber named "Ali-A" and I honestly can't agree more with him. I just don't understand why the need for so much violence and arguing about which damn gaming platform I like to play most. So what I like to play my Xbox? That's the console most of my friends are on and I'm not going to spend all that money to buy a PS3 or a beast gaming PC to satisfy some immature little kid over the internet? Just like you wouldn't stop playing the PS3 or the PC if I told you to go buy an Xbox.
Well this has been my rant about console wars. Thanks for reading all the way through and I hope you agree with me.

Console wars. Can't people get it through their (thick) skulls that PC has every advantage but one.
Nothing is centralized. Party chat? You have a pick. Teamspeak, Mumble, Skype, Steam's chat, your own set up IRC.
Unless you've got an Apple product, there's no defaulto place you send it. You either fix it yourself, or you pay some idiots in a store to look on Google and pray they can fix it.
The last person I went to, is that I wanted them to fix my RAM problems as I would be busy the next week. All they did was reinstall perfectly fine drivers using the bad RAM, and now my drivers are funky. I even offered them money to replace the RAM, but they declined.
Companies who own consoles and also develop games can be a dick and only release it to their platform. I never understood why, unless they want more bought consoles. At this point at time, I see deals starting at low as $99 for 'high-end' xboxes. Not alot of money made! (then again, the 720/infinity/xbox is soon to come)
EDIT: I wanted this post out as soon as possible, but not to be incomplete.
Some more stuff:
Consoles limit what you can have on there. The hardware is grudgingly old. Developers must optimize their game to the point it's smoothly playable at a single setting. I have never noticed any options to turn up anything.
Yes, there is modding, but to the majority of consumers, you are only capable of what they provide to you. Like the look of PS3, but you want it to run on your Xbox? No. I don't even think without extensive rewriting it would run because of hardware architecture.
