Taking into account all the parts you have to buy, how much would it cost?

For example:
Brand new Apple computer: 1099/$1703
Windows PC with the same performance? X?

Custom build or pre built?

A pre built one, equivalent to a $1799 iMac, would literally be half the price for a PC.

Custom would probably be cheaper

For the same price as any apple computer you can get a pc with fairly better parts. But when you pay alot of money for a mac you are not paying all that money for nothing, all of apples computer parts are made by apple mostly which means they are very compatible and this also contributes to stopping a virus. The operating system is also very easy to use and after using a pc for years then switching to mac i can tell you that personally i prefer mac over pc, although a pc computer can have great parts a mac can too, so to sum it up Pc computers can be much cheaper and have more gaming power but after using osx you will realize its just a great operating system and macs have no shortage of computing power.

Thetfeenz are you feeling OK mate? Mac hardware stops it getting viruses? Erm ok...

That line from apple really annoys me "Macs dont get viruses". No, they do, but you dont hear about it as often because there are probably about 60 pc's to every mac out there...

OSX easier than Windows? Erm, seeing as everyone has grown up with Windows, I doubt it.

Go away macfag

Sorry, did you really just say that? Apple make their own parts for their computers? Explains why they have intel processors then doesn't it. Also, Mac OSX can be installed to any pc, not just a mac. I installed OSX to my Dell laptop a while back to try it out. Your PC hardware can't stop you getting a virus, you literally just made that up in the spot.

IKR, Mac users get so defensive. You can tell the majority have no technical knowledge whatsoever. I do understand that they do come with good stock editing software, but the high end applications usually run on both, if not only Windows.

Also Apple make no parts whatsoever, damn their iphone screens are made by samsung lol...

As above said, I made a hackintosh, and it has a pretty steep learning curve. Even Linux distros such as Ubuntu have a much easier learning curve.
