They both record in the same quality and are the same price, but the Elgato software is so much better. It supports livecoms, streaming, and going back an hour and recording anything you missed.

Elgato > HDPVR2

Thanks, this is why Ive been favouring the elgato.. Just wanted to see if I missed anything with the PVR 2.
