Judging by what people are saying, I think I will just stay away from jailbreaking because I do not want to risk it.
If that's the case, don't jailbreak. 6.1.3 currently only has a tethered jailbreak if I remember correctly.
Jailbreaking causes NO issues whatsoever. It is the tweaks and customizations you put on the device that cause problems. Anyway, say if you install ta theme and it breaks your phone, it will go into safe mode, which disables everything jailbreak related, and you can just remove it.
Also there will be NO jailbreak for 6.1.3/4 as announced, they are saving the exploits they have for an iOS 7 jailbreak.

I have had all my apple devices jailbroken if the software was available. You just have to learn and figure out what you should and shouldn't download from Cydia. I don't use winterboard or dreamboard because I have found out that that was the cause of my Iphone's crashing and lagging. I only use it for some simple tweaks and some sweet apps (like Movie Box).

I jailbroke my iPhone 4, but it's not really worth it I don't think. I just enjoy having Phantom for Snapchat, that's about it.

In my point of view theres no point jailbreaking, all it does it just slows your phone down really slow

Why are so many people here posting when they are uneducated about JB? Jailbreaking adds NO extra processor load / RAM usage, it simply allows you to run unsigned code.
If you jailbroke your phone, and did absolutely nothing in cydia, it would be as reliable and the battery would last as long. If you add extra processes onto your phone (eg Winterboard), then obviously battery life is going to decrease. After you end up installing 50 odd tweaks, then you notice.
And for the guy who said his phone was still running slow after removing jailbreak, that will be a hardware issue. Restoring an iPhone is like formatting a PC hard drive. If your Windows 7 is broken and you format and reinstall, its brand new, and any problems would be down to your hardware.
