I joined the group... I think... Anyway I'm getting around 40k calculations per day on max. I'm going to have to run it on medium... so I don't burn my house down.

Having problems now... My computer restarted and installed a windows update and now my GPU is idle when Im on medium speed. It'll turn on when I set it to Full but, I don't want my CPU to run at full... If you can help please send me a PM.

I'm confused as to what progress I'm making, I run the program on full and I'm getting around 480 points per day. Baring in mind my computer is 3 years old.

Anyone getting anything similar/different?

I think it goes off how much your PC is doing because I'm hitting 40,681 PPD.

EDIT: My GPU started work and I'm now hitting 70,000+.

Kyle93 wrote Hi TTG, this is your chance to be involved in something big that can make a diference to many lives.

Help Stanford University scientists studying Alzheimer's, Huntington's, Parkinson's, and many cancers by simply running a piece of software on your computer.

The problems we are trying to solve require so many calculations, we ask people to donate their unused computer power to crunch some of the numbers.

What is protein folding?
Proteins are biology's workhorses- its "nanomachines." Proteins help your body break down food into energy, regulate your moods, and fight disease. Before proteins can carry out these important functions, they assemble themselves, or "fold." While protein folding is critical and fundamental to virtually all of biology much of the process remains a mystery.

When proteins do not fold correctly (misfolding), there can be serious health consequences, including many well known diseases, such as Alzheimer's, Mad Cow (BSE), CJD, ALS, AIDS, Huntington's, Parkinson's disease, and many cancers.

If we better understand protein misfolding we can design drugs and therapies to combat these illnesses.

So that it, download the program let it run and you can help cure disease.

Just a warning, if you don't above average PC/Cooling System it can overheat the CPU and GPU on the higher settings sometimes. So just make sure you put it on light settings or keep an eye on your temps. Should not happen just a warning. However, if any happens TTG is not responsible for any damage in any case. Again, should not happen, just a heads up.

Im in, And yes, be careful, this made my Core Temp jump +20 Celsius. Follow that warning everybody.
