Hello smart people of TTG, you have helped me many times before, and once again, I need your help.

This is getting realllllly annoying, Every time i type something into the search bar, i get this

*what I don't want* (MyWebSearch)
[ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

*What I want* (Google)
[ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

Every time i type something into the "blank" address bar, it defaults to this stupid "mywebsearch"

I want google to pop up when I type something into the blank address bar.

( Im not stupid and download random crap, so i have NO CLUE how this got on here. )

This is likely a browser hijack. Lucky for you, these aren't too difficult to solve. Before we continue, I just have a few questions that I need answered.

Do you have an antivirus?

How long have you experienced this issue?

Have you downloaded any files in the time frame above
that you were unsure of?

Has this issue impacted overall performance i.e. programs become unresponsive or programs take longer to open than before?

Alright, thank you for supplying me with that information. Let's jump in.

First I would like you to download a program called malwarebytes.

[ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

Install and run the quick scan. Once the scan completes, go test your browser and see if you still have issues. If you are still having problems, notify me and I will give you another more aggressive solution.

EDIT: Instead of contacting me immediately, test these programs as well, they will more than likely rectify this issue as they have for myself and others in the past.

CCleaner: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

Run the cleaner, once it is complete, select registry and scan for issues.

ComboFix: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

This is great for picking up things that Malwarebytes might miss.
Just run it like you would any other cleaner.

Spybot SnD: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

Yet again another great cleaner that offers an antivirus if you choose to use it. I just run this from time to time to clean my computer if things aren't acting properly.

Run these cleaners above and if you are still having issues I will walk you through other alternative methods.

AdwCleaner should be all you need.

The OP PM'd me, ComboFix seemed to solve the problem for him. My work here is done.
