I already ordered the computer, I bought it from Cyberpower PC. Was it a good choice for $500?

CPU:AMD A4-5300 3.40 GHz Dual-Core APU w/ Integrated Radeon HD 7480D

FAN: AMD Certified CPU Fan & Heatsink

HDD: 2TB (2TBx1) SATA-III 6.0Gb/s 64MB Cache 7200RPM HDD [+0] (Single Drive)

MEMORY: 4GB (2GBx2) DDR3/1600MHz Dual Channel Memory (Corsair or Major Brand)

MOTHERBOARD: ASRock FM2A75M-ITX AMD FM2 mITX w/ XFast 555, X-Boost 7.1 HD Audio, HDMI, USB3.0, SATA-III RAID, 1 Gen2 PCie x16

POWERSUPPLY: 600 Watts - Standard 80 Plus Certified Power Supply - SLI/CrossFireX Ready

VIDEO: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650 1GB 16X PCIe 3.0 Video Card (Major Brand Powered by NVIDIA)

The processor could be a fair bit stronger and the memory is a little on the low side, it's certainly not bad but you could have done a lot better.

I'm going to upgrade the ram to 8gb, would that make it better?

Why exactly? You already purchased it. You usually ask advice before purchasing.

Was it a good choice for $500? No. You got ripped off by choosing the wrong parts and paying someone hundreds of dollars to do a 30 minute job.

You interpreted what I said wrong. What I meant is that they're indeed compatible, just not balanced and recommended. Honestly, if you still can cancel and don't want to get ripped off, do so.

processor and memory are not good. change processor if you want amd to fx-4300 vishera or if you want intel go I5 2500k. also 8gb ram.
i payed 500 for my pc and got intel i5 and radeon 7870 cause i built my own pc and thats what you should do also if u can.
