So I think I'll start with 7 things I hate about gaming at the moment.
1. EA and Nintendo
I'm probably a minority here, but I absolutely despise EA.
Not for the usual reasons like their DLC bullshit and online passes, since I restrict myself to Nintendo consoles (Having more than one current-gen console just takes up space) and because Nintendo's online was total ass, these weren't problems because NO games used those.
But I digress.
The 3DS and Wii U are now the current consoles, with MUCH better online systems. EA was one of the developers that helped Nintendo out with this. Shortly after, they told Ninty to scrap the whole thing and just let EA absorb it into Origin.
Of course, Nintendo knew that would be horrible, as Origin is godawful and people like it about as much as they like EA's Online Passes. So they said no to that.
So EA responded by not releasing 10 of 13 games for the Wii U during the holiday season.
Those were Mass Effect 3, Madden NFL 13 and FIFA 13.
First thought: "Well, that's underwhelming. Whatever, it's just launch."
Then they refuse to release any of the promised DLC for Need For Speed, giving us about 60% of the full game.
Same goes for Mass Effect 3, leaving us stuck with the shitty ending that came with the game at release.
Later, they do the same with Need For Speed: Most Wanted. Good game, but once again released only partially.
Later, any releases originally slated for the Wii U, such as Battlefield 3 and 4 and Crysis 3 are canned.
Why was Battlefield 3 cancelled? Simple. "We are working on a Wii U version of Battlefield 4."
Later, "The Frostbite engine does not function on the Wii U."
Although CryEngine, a much more CPU heavy engine, runs beautifully on it. Hell, even Unreal Engine 4 will run.
So what's the big deal?
You release half-assed ports, cancel future releases and just yesterday, you outright said, in the most professional way ever might I add, that the Wii U is a "piece of crap" and "less powerful than an Xbox 360". Really? You even know that isn't true, especially if the Wii U version of Most Wanted looks just as good, if not better than the one on PC.
Whenever bitter fans ask why the **** they do this, they give either a cryptic answer or just say nothing.
Since they really don't have any actual reason for doing this aside from the Origin thing, all I can really say is grow the **** up, Electronic "Arts". And here's a couple tips for you.
1. Games don't sell? Try making something functional before just putting it out there and calling it a "game".
2. Calling any console a "piece of crap" does not look professional. At all. If anything, it makes you look less mature than you already are.
Congrats EA, you've managed to piss off every part of the spectrum.
