I hate them for not giving us a great feature while moving forward. Why buy games like GTA V if we can't play it on next-gen? and im the one that would hold us back in the dark ages? lmao

The console is the first phase in the future of gaming, bringing back old games keep the console in the past. They are breaking ties with the past to focus on the future.. I don't see what's wrong with that.

It's not because Microsoft is mean; it's because PowerPC is long depreciated and further development on that platform is not possible. When the 360 was released, PPC was not depreciated. The PS4 is also architecturally incompatible with the PS3 because the old console uses a Cell Broadband Engine CPU.

Consoles that are backwards-compatible actually have old hardware onboard that is used to play games from older systems. The fat PS2 had PS1 components whereas the slim model did not, so the slim was not backwards-compatible with PS1 games like the fat PS2 was. The only other way to play games made for a different CPU architecture is to actually emulate the architecture, which requires an inordinate amount of processing power.

TL;DR: Microsoft is not being mean, backwards compatibility is just not a reasonable possibility for them to implement.

I agree it is cool that they make a new console but i dont see the problem if people just wanna play xbox 360 games on the xbox one

I dont mind because its all on the same Xbox Live so I would just go on my 360 and play with people through that one if I want to play an older game.
