If you keep your xbox 360 and say you buy fifa 14 and your friend had a xbox one and he also had fifa 14 will I be able to still play with him even though I'm on xbox 360 and he is on xbox one?

Theres speculation that the Xbox one will allow for Cross-Platform games, you'll have to wait until E3, that's when they'll go in-depth into the gaming side of the Xbox One.

Xbox support team said there will be no cross platforming on thier twitter so I am saying no but they may change that before they release the Xbox one.

i dont see why they cant because they are using the same live system (Xbox Live) but i dont know if the hardware will make cross platform gaming impossible.

All this is just to confusing personal I think they are going to loose alot of xbox gamers , if you carnt cross platform game ... I mean another example is when fifa 14 gets released 27th September And say the xbox one comes out near Christmas then that means you will have to buy fifa again for xbox one :/ if you want to play with your friends who have fifa 14 on xbox one

The Xbox One has 3 Operating systems and a x86 processor. The game will have to be made on both the Xbox One and Xbox360.

Even if they don't allow cross-platform gaming (which I'm still very skeptical about) it wont make much of a difference, you can't complain that they're not allowing you to play with your friends because it's common sense, Sony and Microsoft aren't going to allow you to play with the next-gen gamers as it might mean you wont spend the money for the console, even if it was possible, it would be a bad marketing strategy from both Sony and Microsoft; don't expect cross-platform gaming.
