Big topics and my thoughts.
1. THE XBOX ONE ISN'T GOING TO LET ME PLAY USED GAMES. In a chat yesterday, Xbox's "Major Nelson" stated that their goal was for used game policy to be the same as the Xbox 360. Also, he said that the Xbox One is still months away from actually being released, so no policy is final right now.
I think Microsoft is testing the waters, and they are doing it the right way. Contrary to popular belief, the PS4 is not perfect. There have not been many negative releases on the PS4. I think Microsoft is doing the right thing here by getting the bad information out of the way early. Meanwhile, the PS4's last prerelease memories will be the negative press it got. Microsoft is a company that likes to make money, we know this. They will change their policy due to the backlash that they received imo. It's a smart business move.
2. XBOX ONE DOESN'T HAVE BACKWARD COMPATIBILITY. Well this was pretty expected lol. The PS3 wasn't backwards compatible.
I think the Cloud will have a large part in satisfying old school gamers.
3. ITS UGLY. I think what Microsoft was doing with the One was making it into a simple living room piece. This is why it only works in the horizontal orientation. They wanted it to be about as noticeable as the cable box in your living room.
4. WHERE ARE THE GAMES. I think that it was expectable for Microsoft to show very little in the way of games. Remember how Sony didn't show the console but showed lots of games? Well think of the same reasoning for Microsoft. E3 is near. They had to save something for us to look forward to. Would you watch an E3 presentation based around the TV capabilities of the XONE? I wouldn't. This sets Microsoft up to make E3 truly all about the games.
5. GRAPHICS. I think that the graphics of the XONE will be about the same if not better than the PS4. With the Windows OS it should be easier to port games than the Sony console again. Also, Microsoft has taken measures to keep up with the PS4 despite it's seemingly inferior specs.
What I'm also excited for:
Friends list increase
Possibility of dedicated servers
