A free place to learn Java is Code Academy. Search it on Google. They have courses that are free!

I'd suggest start of with videos etc to get the basics around the language:

I'd say actually follow these tutorials, just watching them isn't as effective as actually doing it yourself.

There are probably plenty more sources available, just keep practicing as with any language. Then you can work onto programming your own projects and I would definitely recommend:

The community of that site is so diverse and I've yet to see a question ever go unanswered. This is a forum however, you're always better of using question/answer based sites for your queries as answers supplied from this site are rarely longer than a single sentence...

I suggest u search for thenewboston tutorials.
His tuts are awsome, and helpfull.
They helped me A lot.
Maybe download windowbuilder, wich helps u to get easy gui's
